Elizabeth King
Overview
Educated at Mercer University in Psychology and Spanish, Ms. King began her early career as a probation officer in Gainesville, GA. With a year-long foray into Public Defense work and a year-long stint abroad working for a non-profit in Sarajevo, Bosnia under her belt, she returned to probation work in Gainesville, most recently attaining the position of Deputy Chief, where she was known for her direct communication and support of co-workers.
She took advantage of an opportunity for a career shift in mid 2012, when she began working for the University System of Georgia. Shortly thereafter Gainesville State College and North Georgia College and State University underwent re-structuring and consolidation, and Ms. King transitioned as well, working as a Program Coordinator for the newly established University of North Georgia. Her focus is on the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the truist Center for Ethical Business Leadership, coordinating the interaction between university and business community. Additionally, Ms. King recently achieved the Cottrell MBA.
Still, Ms. King would cite her greatest accomplishment is still in production: Adria Marie, aged five.
