my name is jasmine valentine and i'm a
second year cadet here at the university
of north georgia
i'm a platoon sergeant and bravo company
in charge of 22 people
when i first joined the corps i was very
shy timid didn't really know much about
the military
and as a second year cadet it's almost
like i did a 180.
i'm much more confident in my ability to
lead in comparison to how i was when i
first joined the corps
because in the past two years the corps
has thrown me into uncomfortable
positions
that have then become comfortable as i
am carrying out the role
i'm a cyber security major with a dual
minor in military leadership
and intelligence the university of north
georgia has one of the top cyber
security programs in the state of
georgia
and i plan on commissioning into the
united states army as a cyber officer
once i graduate
i'm currently a student assistant in
cadet admissions where i give cadet
tours
and i used to work as an orientation
leader where i would assist new students
and their transition into the core
cadence outside of the core in school
i love to run and i'm currently training
for a marathon
north georgia and the corps are so
special to me because of the opportunity
it provides
just the other day i met general fogerty
the commander of cyber in the u.s army
and an alumnus of the university and i
wouldn't have had that opportunity if it
wasn't for north georgia
the corps of cadets has given me the
tools to be a successful leader
both in and out of the army and that's
what it is all about
