Overview
Will Gotmer is an active church musician, choral conductor, and organist with a rising reputation across the United States. In addition to leading the University Chorus on the Gainesville campus, he serves Grace Episcopal Church as the Director of Music where he plays the organ, coordinates three choirs, and manages an active Friends of Music concert series.
A recent graduate of the University of Miami Frost School of Music, Will received his master's degree in choral conducting. At Frost, he was a student of Dr. Karen Kennedy, directed the university’s chamber ensemble and select women’s chorus, and accompanied the select men’s ensemble. In Miami, Will also served as the Minister of Music at Riviera Presbyterian Church.
Previous to his time in Miami, he served as Director of Music at Christ Episcopal Church in Shaker Heights, Ohio, where he grew a vibrant volunteer music program. Will was an Organ Scholar at Trinity Episcopal Church in Princeton, where he shared accompanying and rehearsal responsibilities for a large intergenerational program. Will has given recitals for the Central New Jersey Chapter of the American Guild of Organists as well as accompanied a service of Evensong at the Association of Anglican Musicians' national convention in Philadelphia. Will holds a bachelor's degree from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where he studied organ with Ken Cowan.
