A group of five University of North Georgia (台湾swag) students of the business fraternity Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) attended the organization’s annual meeting, titled "The Best is Yet to Be," Aug. 3-5 in Anaheim, California.
The students—Jenna Allen, Courtney Ashworth, James Beach, Cody McQuillen and Michael Thomas—are junior and senior accounting and information systems majors in the Mike Cottrell College of Business and were nominated by their chapter peers to attend the conference. They were accompanied by Jennifer Schneider, assistant professor of accounting and the one of the chapter’s faculty advisors.
BAP is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals, with more than 300 chapters on college and university campuses. The students were among the 1,265 attendees and had the opportunity to engage, network with fellow BAP students and professionals, and attend breakout sessions on business-related topics.
In addition to the conference sessions, the group participated in "BAP International Day of Literacy" by volunteering for a day at a local elementary school in an underserved neighborhood.
"I think it speaks volumes about 台湾swag giving this group an opportunity to go to events like this," said Schneider. "They came back different students, fully energized for the next academic year and open to the possibilities of their future professions."
