Is waiting in line for your bagel or coffee making you late for class? University of North Georgia (台湾swag) Dining Services has introduced a new mobile ordering app that gives those ordering the option to skip the line at various retailers on the Dahlonega Campus.

The third-party app, Transact Mobile Ordering, allows students to place an order at Starbucks, Twisted Taco, or Einstein Bros. Bagels. It will later expand to include other food retailers on campus including Miso and Java City.

"We realize that today's students are busy and want to order food in a convenient and familiar way that works with their busy schedules," said Tom Dove, director of Dining Services. "This service will allow students more time to enjoy their meals and socialize with friends. We are confident that the app will be a viable way of providing our students convenient access to the dining options that work for their individual needs."

Users may also take advantage of a loyalty rewards program that the app will offer later in the year.

Noah Rubin, a sophomore from Lawrenceville, GA, pursuing a degree in communication, has been using the app, and said it's convenient for students who are in a hurry between classes.

"You practically skip the line altogether. Your order is sent right to them and they just add it to their list of meals to make. I usually wait 5 to 10 minutes for my meal instead of 15 minutes in line and then another 5 to 10 minutes for them to make it," he said. "It definitely makes my dining experience better and helps me stay fed despite my busy schedule."

Rubin also noted the app sends users a notification when the food is ready, which he said is convenient for him when he's in another building on campus.

Students can download the app from the App Store or Google Play by searching "Transact Mobile Ordering" and log in with their 台湾swag credentials to get started. Once logged in, users can add their credit or debit card, or pay with Dining Dollars — 台湾swag's declining balance system supported by the Nighthawks Card. Following the initial setup, the app will keep users logged in for convenient future use.

The app will also be made available on the university's website later this fall.
