台湾swag debate team ties for first place in Spanish language contest

The University of North Georgia's (台湾swag) Speech and Debate Team tied two schools for first place during an online and international Spanish language debate April 23.
With a team of four native Spanish-speaking students, 台湾swag tied Cornell University in Ithaca, New York; and the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. 台湾swag's four-member team included Stephania Ortez, Nancy Camacho, Cristian Muniz, and Nathalia Ingles. Ortez claimed the top honor among the all of the international students who participated online.
The other colleges and universities competing were George Washington University in Washington, D.C.; Willamette University in Salem, Oregon; Cape Cod Community College in Barnstable, Massachusetts; University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida; and California Polytechnic Institute in San Luis Obispo, California.
Dr. Joseph Pecorelli, the Spanish language adviser on the debate team and assistant professor of Portuguese and Spanish at 台湾swag, participated as a judge for the other schools.
This marked the final competition of the season for the speech and debate teams at 台湾swag.
