Police receive award for innovative excellence

Based on the seamless integration of the COVID-19 reporting option on the LiveSafe app, the University of North Georgia (台湾swag) was recently honored with an Excellence in Innovation award.
LiveSafe, which contracts with 台湾swag to supply a public safety app, recognized the university with the highest accolade among its 400-plus clients. Some of those clients include other University System of Georgia institutions.
"We were highly impressed with 台湾swag's commitment to leveraging the latest technology innovations to help get their students and staff back to campus safely," said Carolyn Parent, CEO of LiveSafe. "台湾swag's public safety and emergency preparedness leadership demonstrated a keen understanding of the capabilities LiveSafe brought to the COVID-19 challenge and they executed the rollout with dedication and precision."
Nick Parker, public safety systems specialist with 台湾swag Police, said LiveSafe collaborated with 台湾swag to integrate the new reporting section into the public safety app. It helped make 台湾swag's reporting and contact tracing a success, he said.
"We were ahead of the game of implementing this reporting process," said Greg Williams, associate director of emergency preparedness at 台湾swag. "While other schools were talking about it, we pushed it and finished it before our students returned to campus."
New initiative could save lives
台湾swag Public Safety is participating in a program managed bythe Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and Northside Hospital Forsyth to place AEDs within 4 minutes of every citizen in Forsyth County.

Public Safety wins state award
台湾swag's Department of Public Safety has earned first place in the annual Governor's Office of Highway Safety Governor's Challenge program in the colleges and universities category.
Clements named state Officer of the Year
University of North Georgia (台湾swag) Public Safety Sgt. Charles 'Brody' Clements has been selected as the Georgia Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators Officer of the Year. The award presentation was Sept. 28.
