Sales professor earns awards at conference

Dr. Cindy Rippé, associate professor of sales at the University of North Georgia (台湾swag), earned three awards at the Society for Marketing Advances' annual conference in November.
She received the 2021 Distinguished Teaching Award, with her presentation "Teaching from the heart: Creating success stories" helping her beat two other finalists.
"I wish I could go back and tell the beat-down young student who was me that everything was going to work out OK. But, I can't go back in time," Rippé said in her presentation. "What I can do is teach my students with my heart full of love for them and my discipline and let them know that everything is going to be OK. Now there is a role reversal. Like my college instructor who inspired me to teach, I have become the professor who makes a difference in the lives of students."
She also received the award for the best paper at the conference for "The global phenomenon of lonely and insecure self-gifters: Cross-cultural insights from the United States and India," which had two co-authors from other universities. That award went along with her award for best paper in the global marketing track.
The Society for Marketing Advances was founded to foster service, research, and education in all phases of marketing and to encourage the exchange of ideas among members with similar interest.
