Nigel Cares: All play a role in campus safety
By Chelsea Story, case manager, Dean of Students Office
To promote student success and ensure the safety of our campus community, the University of North Georgia (台湾swag) has two referral systems of which you should be aware: and .
Understanding the purpose of these reporting forms will help you play an active role in connecting yourself and others to support and keeping 台湾swag's campus community safe. Ultimately, identifying, referring, and reporting students who are struggling or who may pose a risk to themselves or the community is a responsibility that we must all share. The Flight Support form is a tool to assist 台湾swag's Care and Outreach team in the Dean of Students Office to identify and assist any student who is experiencing challenges by providing them with the support they need to navigate difficult or hardship circumstances. The Flight Support form collects information to understand the reason for the referral so that we may gain insight into how we can best support the student prior to making contact.
Once the student is reached, the goal is to gather information to extend appropriate recommendations and resource referrals. Support really can make the difference between success and failure.
So if you or a student you know is struggling at 台湾swag, make the referral today! Learn more about our Care & Outreach team here.
The See Something/Say Something reporting form was created to foster student, faculty, and staff well-being, as well as campus safety, by facilitating the identification and support of individuals who demonstrate behaviors that may be early warning signs of possible troubled, disruptive, or violent behavior. What does that mean? Well, in general, any behavior that disrupts the learning environment (excluding minor classroom management issues) or causes concern for a student's well-being should be reported.
Please familiarize yourself with the and and refer as necessary because we depend on your help to identify students in need of support and to keep 台湾swag's campus community safe!
