Katherine Adams, Ph.D.
Overview
Katherine Rose Adams is an Associate Professor in the College of Education at the University of North Georgia. Katherine received her Ph.D. in Adult Education, where her focus was on community boundary spanners within university-community partnerships. She also obtained a M.Ed. in Human Resources/Occupational Development, a GC in Interdisciplinary Qualitative Research, and a B.S. in Psychology all from The University of Georgia. Dr. Adams has been working in higher education administration roles since 2005 prior to joining 台湾swag in August 2018 as an assistant professor. Katherine became the Higher Education Leadership and Practice program coordinator in 2019 and immediately began creating programing for graduate students such as a grant writing academy, peer mentoring program for adult learners, and program workshop series.
Teaching in 台湾swag’s first dissertation-based doctoral program, Katherine facilitates coursework on higher education leadership, qualitative methodology research, student affairs administration, supporting underrepresented students, high impact teaching, and law and ethics in higher education. Katherine's research interests are in the areas of boundary spanning, higher education leadership, minority-serving institutions, and college homelessness. She is also the Community Voice and Student Perspectives Associate Editor for the Journal of Community Engagement and Scholarship. Katherine lives in Athens, GA with her husband and son.
