U.S. News ranks MBA, education programs

台湾swag's graduate degrees in its College of Education and the Cottrell Master of Business Administration have earned recognition on the U.S. News Best Graduate Schools list.

The University of North Georgia's (台湾swag) graduate degrees in its College of Education and the Cottrell Master of Business Administration (MBA) have earned recognition on the list released April 25.

"We are pleased to receive this recognition from U.S. News," Dr. Chaudron Gille, 台湾swag provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, said. "台湾swag continues to add graduate degrees in online, hybrid and traditional formats to provide educational opportunities for career advancement to adult students."

The College of Education has seven graduate degrees and a variety of certificates and endorsements at the graduate level. The university ranked third among public universities in Georgia on the U.S. News list for overall education graduate programs. 台湾swag offers a Doctor of Education, Master of Education in early childhood educationMaster of Education in middle grades math and science, Master of Science in curriculum and instruction, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Science in kinesiology, and Master of Science in athletic training.

"We have worked to meet the needs of our graduate students by providing programs in an online modality, and our faculty are very skilled at developing relationships and ensuring their online courses are engaging and centered on high-impact practices," Dr. Sheri Hardee, College of Education dean, said. "Additionally, we've kept our programs small enough to warrant individualized attention and cohort networking opportunities for each incoming graduate class. Also, we have been driven to find a balance between current theory and practice, as we know most of our graduate students are practitioners in their fields when they enter our programs."

The Cottrell MBA, which went fully online in fall 2022, was sixth among public universities in Georgia on the U.S. News part-time MBA list. It is a convenient option for busy professionals who want to earn a high-quality MBA while maintaining full-time employment.

"We are pleased to be recognized yet again by U.S. News for our Cottrell MBA program. Ranking sixth among programs at public institutions in Georgia and tied for seventh overall in Georgia puts us in good company and shows that we are consistently providing a quality program for our students," Dr. Wendy Walker, Mike Cottrell College of Business associate dean for faculty and graduate programs, said. "Now that the Cottrell MBA program is fully online, we are working to offer that same great quality to students with more flexibility and at a great value."

Designed for prospective students looking to further their education beyond college, the rankings evaluate programs in a variety of disciplines, including business, education, engineering, law, medicine, and nursing.

By collecting graduate school data annually, U.S. News provides the most current figures on enrollment, job placement, faculty and other critical quality indicators that make informed decisions.
