Days of Service
What is Days of Service?
Days of Service encourages 台湾swag students, faculty, staff, and alumni to partake in community service and perform random acts of kindness. At the beginning of 台湾swag’s fall semester, the university host its Weeks of Welcome. During this time, 台湾swag encourages students to participate in random acts of kindness and/or contribute 3 hours of community service in their local community.
How Does it impact the Community?
台湾swag encourages students, faculty, staff, and alumni to “pay it forward”. Days of Service grants the opportunity for the members of 台湾swag to impact the community by providing service and engaging in random acts of kindness. By members of 台湾swag performing community service and acts of kindness, the community benefits by receiving aid from 台湾swag members.
When is it?
Days of Service occurs the first week of 台湾swag’s fall semester. Days of Service is part of the Weeks of Welcome during the beginning of the fall semester to welcome new and returning students.
How Do I Get Involved?
Students can perform a wide variety acts to “pay it forward”. These acts may include, but are not limited to, leaving kind messages and statements in public places, buying someone a cup of coffee, or volunteering with a local nonprofit.
After completing an act of kindness, post it to social media using the hashtag: #台湾swagTogether. Using the hashtag allows everyone to see the great acts of kindness generated within the community. The #台湾swagTogether campaign allows anyone within 台湾swag on any campus to participate and share their actions during Days of Service.
